As a person who has been able to further my education, I have
learned so much from being at a place where everyone is paying for their education so they can go into a certain career. College has taught me so much in my respective field and I feel that because I have taken my education seriously, I have been able to prepare myself for a real-world job. But it hasn't always been like this for me.
In middle school and high school, I didn't take it seriously. During
those years, school never really felt like something that mattered,
it just felt like a place we had to go to for eight hours a day, five days a week. I never really took it too seriously. It wasn't
until I was in 11th grade that I realized that what I did in high school would affect me for the rest of my life. Getting good grades
in classes would determine what type of college I would get into and participating in things that were in the career field I wanted to go into would help me understand it better.
Once I got into college, this is when a lot of things changed for
me and how much I cared about my education. Seeing how much I am paying for school made me take my education seriously. But something that never made sense to me is people who are in college and still don't take their education seriously. I am fully paying for college by myself so I can’t imagine not taking this seriously. This is what sets me up for the rest of my life.
